SUMMARY

An experimental mathematical model has been developed for calculation of the retention time of chlorthalidon and clonidine hydrochloride in tablets. Because the maximum error is less than 30 s it is always possible to place the peaks of the target compounds in the specified retention windows. This approach is preferred to the conditions given in Pharmacopoeia 23, because of easier performance.
